Vice President Kamala Harris Kicks Off Day 1 Of The DNC In Style

Vice President Kamala Harris continues her history-making journey at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Illinois. The four-day convention is an ongoing nominating process in which the United States Democratic Party votes and nominates VP Harris and running mate, Governor Tim Walz, in the 2024 presidential election.

This specific DNC is historic, as it spotlights America’s prolonged progression towards electing the first Black, Asian-American woman as a presidential candidate. Day one featured riveting speeches from U.S. representative and activist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, and former presidential nominee Hilary Clinton.

Although VP Kamala Harris is the focus of the DNC, the president-elect took to the stage in a chic, camel-colored, custom Chloe suit to honor President Biden and thank him for his years of public service. With her signature smile in tow and her silk press sittin’ pretty, Harris showed that she was all business in the sleek two-piece.

As the vice president and presidential-elect, Harris recognizes the importance of maintaining a muted wardrobe. During our forever-POTUS’ tenure, former First Lady Michelle Obama received lots of criticism because of her attire. When reporters weren’t discussing her exposed shoulders, they condemned her dresses, labeling them inappropriate and distracting. If a woman with such style and grace could be subjected to such scrutiny, VP Harris has a tumultuous road of disparagement ahead of her – they’re already troubled by her laugh.
