Tyler, The Creator — “St. Chroma”

Tyler, The Creator is gearing up to drop a new album. To prepare for the highly-anticipated CHROMAKOPIA, the Odd Future star delivers “St. Chroma” as a song and music video.

Tyler opens the track with “Chromakopia” chants. Soon, he begins whispering. “Calm down, sit still,” he tells the listener with a hushed tone. “I’m gon’ make it out,” he declares. “Promise, I’m gon’ make it out / Mama, I’m gon’ make it out.” Daniel Caesar’s vocals serenade the cut’s closing portion.

Footsteps open the song’s vintage-inspired grain-filled music video. Tyler appears to pop up in a mask, the same mask that adorns the album’s since-released artwork. He leads a group of masked people into a shipping container that has Chromakopia written on it. Soon, that shipping container turns to dust in an explosion.

CHROMAKOPIA is due to arrive Oct. 28. Most albums land on Thursday nights, but this will mark an important pivot as it will arrive on a Monday. He spoke about that notion during a 2023 interview with Nardwuar.

“The streaming people are like, ’Streams go up on the weekend.’ But I think it’s a lot of passive listening at parties or people get time to go to the gym,” he explained. “So they’re not really listening. And people, on the weekends, just want to chill and hang out so they’re not really listening but I think if you put it out during the week, that commute to work or work or whatever that is, you really have that [time] to really dive in and really listen.”

Chino Pacas f. Drake & Fuerza Regida — “Modo Capone”

Drake is back in spotlight. After collaborating with artists like Camila Cabello, Sexyy Red, and Latto, the Toronto star teams up with Chino Pacas and Fuerza Regida for a new genre-bender. Chino is a rising star in the Mexican music scene while Fuerza Regida has become one of the region’s biggest acts. Now they combine forces with Drizzy to create “Modo Capone.”

Drake also flexes his bilingual skills on the song. Going in and out of English and Spanish, he sings about his beloved Toronto; the power of money; and no longer wanting love. Chino shares a shout out to LeBron James and Fuerza Regida’s leader JOP says he’s locked in with The 6.

Chino accompanies the new release with a music video teaser. The weather is warm on a beautiful ranch. Surrounded by expensive rides and horses, the trio perform their new global collab.

“Modo Capone” drops on Chino’s 18th birthday, but it also coincides with his debut album, Que Sigan Llegando Las Pacas. The LP also includes a song called “3 Letras (OVO)” that’s about Drake.

Ab-Soul f. Jason Martin & Thirsty P — “All That”

Ab-Soul is with “All That.” Joined by Jason Martin (formerly known as Problem) and Thirsty P, the Top Dawg Ent. MC unleashes his newest single.

“Young refugee, are you ready or not? / We be to rap what key be to lock / Hand me my keys, then I skate off the lot,” Soul raps on the the joint’s first verse. “Enemies retreat before we bleed ya block.”

Jason Martin pops up for the second verse. “We checked your file, you are not CPT / You never swapped chili for EBT,” he raps on the bass-thumping production. “The best advice comes from villains and thots,” he adds.

Homegrown Radio’s Chuck Dizzle and DJ Hed act as the hosts in the music video. The clip features sepia tone and black and white images that flash across the screen, mixed with cinematic images of old school rides, block parties, and more.

Coco Jones f. Future & London On Da Track — “Most Beautiful Design”

Coco Jones continues creating. Fresh off “Sweep It Up” and “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” the singer-songwriter unveils her newest single, “Most Beautiful Design.” Future and London On Da Track join her for this new collaboration.

“I want the world to see my love, it’s a promise / Went to Africa, I just touched down from Ghana,” Hendrix sings on the track. Coco adds: “I don’t listen to what they say about you / Boy, you know I’m all about you / So I know that it’s real when you tell me that you love me.”

Coco says the song epitomizes a style of music she grew up loving. “I’ve always been a fan of rap and R&B duets, so being able to modernize that format alongside Future — a rapper with such longevity and years of success in the game — is so exciting to me,” she says in a press release.

London also produced the track with Al Cress and Mars, according to Spotify. Coco says the production is a major contributor to the song’s power. “‘Most Beautiful Design’ is the space London On Da Track discovered where both of our worlds collide and we get to find common ground as rapper and singer, and as man and woman,” she explains.
