Lil Baby — “5AM” & “Insecurities”

Lil Baby is back. Two years after dropping It’s Only Me, one of the genre’s most prominent artists unleashes two new singles to kick off what feels like a new era.

Up first, Baby raps about his come up on “Insecurities.” “I’m really connected / Really come from the bottom / I could’ve got shot up / I know for a fact it’s a blessing,” Baby raps on the track. Wheezy, Cubeatz, Klimperboy, KB, Juko, and Macshooter produced this trunk rattling track.

Up next, Baby raps about tough times and perseverance on “5AM.” “Know my actions gonna affect us all, I’m thinking for the family,” he raps. “I gave everything up for this sh-t, I gotta go the hardest.” Wheezy also produced this banger alongside Sean Momberger.

It looks like a new chapter in the Lil Baby saga. “Ain’t It Crazy How They Tryna Play Me Like I Ain’t The One?” Baby recently wrote on social media. “It’s That Time ! I Would Say Again But This Run Will Be Totally Different !! I Had The Darkest Period Of My Life These Last Two Years But I Stayed Down And Overcame That Sh-t. Now I’m Back.”

Juice WRLD f. Nicki Minaj — “AGATS2 (Insecure)”

Nicki Minaj joins Juice WRLD on “AGATS2 (Insecure),” the sequel to the late musician’s beloved “All Girls Are the Same.”

“What’s up with you?” Minaj raps on the track. “Insecure? Me? Nah, that be you / I left all of them; took a map to you…H-es can’t f-ck with me and that’s just the truth / Somebody gotta teach the class like a substitute.”

Minaj also celebrated the song’s release this week. “We REPRESENTIN FOR JUICE WRLD,” she wrote on social media. “We are grateful & honored. This song is immaculate. Vibez!!!!! PURE VIBEZZZZZZZ. SO EXCITED TO SHARE THIS WIITH ALL OF YOU.”

Nicki continued: “LONG LIVE JUICE WRLD. YOUR TALENT & AURA & LEGACY & TECHNIQUE & SOUND & ABILITY TO CREATE MELODIES & CADENCES ON THE PERFECT BEAT TO MATCH YOUR RARE RICH RAW & DYNAMIC VOICE WILL FOREVER BE UNMATCHED. I love you so much. We miss you so much.”

“AGATS2 (Insecure)” is set to appear on Juice’s forthcoming posthumous album The Party Never Ends.

Cordae — The Crossroads

Cordae is at The Crossroads. The promising rapper delivers his third studio album with help from some famous friends. Lil Wayne, Anderson. Paak, Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, and Kanye West are among the album’s guests as Cordae reflects on his life and his goals.

Before the album came out, Cordae said he was as “vulnerable and transparent” as he’s ever been while crafting this project. And he kicks the LP off with a promise: “I’ve got a story to tell,” he says on “06 Dreaming.” From there, the former YBN artist unveils some of his truths regarding romance, parenthood, and music.

Cordae recently spoke with ESPN about how that sort of truth telling came to be. “Personally, I just felt like I was in a crossroads in my life at the time,” he said. “Just so many things going on. I had a sense of urgency that what I do, like, my next move is so important. If my next move is the correct move, then I’m shooting for the moon. If my next move was a bad move, then I’m not great. So it was a sense of urgency.”

The rising artist also recently spoke about first-week sales projections on social media. “Want to say this now,” he explained. “I don’t give 1 f-ck about a first week sale. It’s a very inaccurate way to calculate impact, especially with the current streaming metrics. I seen somebody do 11K first week and then do a ARENA TOUR off the same album.”

Denzel Curry — KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH

Denzel Curry released King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 earlier this year. But now, he’s back with even more on the official KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH LP.

The Floridian MC recently announced the project and clarified whether it’s a new offering or not. “I introduce to you simply: KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH,” he said. “For Those Confused this is The Official King Of the Mischievous South with more features more songs and the completed, repackaged and updated version. It is no longer a Vol 2 it’s just KOTMS The Album.”

That Mexican OT, A$AP Ferg, TiaCorine, Mike Dimes, Project Pat, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, and Maxo Kream are among the album’s features. Ski Mask The Slump God, Armani White, Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign and more are also on this LP.

This amount of music also shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. After all, Denzel ended last year with a statement. “I’m going to be more consistent with what I’m dropping and making sure 2024 will be the best year for me and my team,” he tweeted.
