We are now in the FAFO phase of what happens when you take a man who claimed that he dumped a dead bear cub in Central Park, and that he found a dead worm in his brain and made him the head of Health and Human Services. 

Now that the Food and Drug Administration is under his leadership, the tin-foil hat-wearing, toxic water-wading Kennedy is looking to restrict the use of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine, because the Trump administration won’t be happy until America looks like the Oregon Trail. 

The vaccine, which used to be available for all as a form of protection against the coronavirus, will now only be available to high-risk individuals

Kennedy’s FDA approved the use of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine, but with strict conditions. It will only be made available to older people and those over the age of 12 with at least one medical condition that leaves them at high risk from Covid, The New York Times reported.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisers have been discussing whether to recommend the vaccine only for those most at risk. The new restrictions mean that healthy people over the age of 65 won’t be able to get the Novavax vaccine, even if they have an immunocompromised friend or family member.

Critics have slammed the restrictions for being in line with Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism. The secretary has ordered an investigation into the debunked claim that vaccines cause autism.

”I don’t know why they would make this restriction; I don’t know of any indication to make this change,” Former CDC adviser and Massachusetts General Hospital infectious disease physician Dr Camille Kotton told The Times. 

She added that people are still visiting hospitals and dying from COVID-19. She called it “a dark day in American medicine.”

It was a dark day in American medicine when Congress approved this low-level conspiracy theorist. And don’t get me wrong, I love a good conspiracy theory. Like, I totally believe that Tupac is not dead and is in a Cuban villa with freedom fighter Assata Shakur. I also believe that Michael Jackson’s soul is inside this man’s body, but the difference between me and Kennedy is I’m not in charge of a whole-ass government body. 

Kennedy’s FDA is requiring all kinds of studies to debunk all of his unproven, unscientific theories, which could cost tens of millions of dollars and I blame social media. See, social media allowed for a massive amount of groupthink in which the claimer no longer had to cite their sources. A notable defense of a scientific argument on social media can be, “Trust me, bro.” 

And just like that, science and all the proven factual science that went along with it were out the window.

So they want to do all of these tests on the vaccine to ensure that it’s 100 percent safe from doing all of these things that only conspiracy theorists believe and it’s just costing time and money. 

“We’ve got to make sure the vaccine safety is crystal clear to engender public confidence,” Dr. Ofer Levy of Boston Children’s Hospital, where he directs the precision vaccine program, told the Times. “On the other hand, where’s that line where you put in too much regulation, it starts to become so challenging that the economics of even making a vaccine are called into question?”

“I don’t pretend to know the answer,” Levy added.

You know who else doesn’t know the answer? Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 

“I think the goal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is to make vaccines less available, more expensive, and more feared,” Dr. Paul Offit, a vaccine expert at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, told the Times. “His goal is to tear away at the vaccine infrastructure, because he believes that vaccines are not beneficial and are only harmful.”
