Lil Durk Linked To Second ‘Murder For Hire’ Conspiracy

Federal authorities claim Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been linked to a second ‘murder for hire’ conspiracy. This time, for the 2022 fatal shooting of alleged gang leader Stephon Mack.

Durk, 32, born Durk Devontay Banks, is awaiting a detention hearing in connection to his role in the shooting death of rapper Lul Pub.

Durk and five of his affiliates have been charged for Pub’s murder, and the attempted murder of rapper Quando Rondo. The hits are alleged to have been put out as retaliation for the 2020 shooting death of rapper King Von.

Lil Durk faces a potential life sentence for his current charges. He has yet to be indicted for the death of Mack, and his lawyers say there’s no real evidence linking him to that crime.

Reports suggest federal prosecutors will attempt to use the information from the unsealed documents linking Durk to Mack’s death to keep him detained while he awaits trial. His initial trial date is scheduled for January 7.
