Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, the NFL and YouTube are teaming up for a high-energy flag football showdown, blending creator culture with sports entertainment.
Scheduled for Saturday, February 8, in New Orleans, the game will be livestreamed exclusively on YouTube at 9 p.m. ET and features an all-star lineup of internet personalities, musicians, and legendary athletes.
Two teams, captained by YouTube megastars IShowSpeed (Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) and Kai Cenat, will go head-to-head on the field. Each squad is stacked with notable figures from different industries:
Adding to the competitive spirit, former NFL quarterbacks Michael Vick and Cam Newton will step in as team captains, leading Speed and Cenat’s teams, respectively.
WNBA star Angel Reese is also expected to serve as a coach for Team Kai.

This marks the first year YouTube is an official partner of the annual Super Bowl flag football game, reflecting the NFL’s push to engage younger audiences.
With flag football set to debut in the 2028 Summer Olympics, the league is using events like this to highlight the sport’s accessibility and growing popularity.

The Play Football Field at the Super Bowl Experience, located at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will serve as the venue for this must-watch event.
Druski will take on the role of head referee, while Rich Eisen and Jason Kelce will be on hand to set the stage.
Sports journalist Taylor Rooks and former NFL pro Andrew “Hawk” Hawkins will provide live commentary.
Before kickoff, sportscaster Kay Adams will host a special pregame show at 8 p.m. ET, exclusively on the NFL’s YouTube channel, offering fans an exclusive look at behind-the-scenes action. Meanwhile, social media power couples Chanen and Juwan Johnson and Kristy and Desmond Scott will report from the sidelines.
