Cory Hardrict gets candid about navigating co-parenting with intention following his divorce from Tia Mowry. Read more about how they keep it centered on love while co-parenting their two children together.
Hardrict appeared on “Sherri” April 7 opening up about prioritizing his children—13-year-old son Cree and 6-year-old daughter Cairo—above all else.
“If you really love your children, you won’t get involved in the noise or the mess,” Hardrict said. “I make sure I always think about them first. I put myself last.”
The 45-year-old “All American: Homecoming” emphasized that outside chatter or public narratives don’t sway how he approaches fatherhood.
“It’s not mess in regards to the situation, it’s just what people creat,” he adds. “No one knows nothing.”
Hardrict and Mowry were together for 14 years before finalizing their divorce in April 2023. Despite the end of their marriage, both continue to maintain a respectful and love-centered approach to raising their children.
“For me, it’s just love. Everything starts and ends with love,” Hardrict added. “We’re a family. No matter what people say. I block out the noise… I gotta make sure I’m representing for them.”
Mowry has also spoken publicly about the complexities of co-parenting, particularly during the holidays. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Christmas Eve 2024, the “Sister, Sister” star acknowledged the emotional rollercoaster of spending the holidays as a single parent.
“Co-parenting during the holidays is a journey — one that’s filled with a mix of emotions,” she wrote. “It can feel challenging and even lonely at times, especially when you’re adjusting to a new family dynamic.”
Still, Mowry said she’s found “beauty” in the new chapter. “It’s an opportunity for my kids to build meaningful relationships with both parents, and for me, it creates space for self-discovery, healing, and rejuvenation.”
In matching plaid pajamas with Cree and Cairo, she reassured others walking a similar path.
“Different doesn’t mean less than,” she wrote. “The most important thing is keeping the traditions alive… because no matter how it looks, we are still family.”
As both Hardrict and Mowry continue to evolve individually, their united front as co-parents is a powerful example of leading with love, maturity, and unwavering devotion to their children.
