London Calling Podcast Yana Bolder
Zendaya as Cher. Teyana Taylor as Dionne Warwick. Queen Latifah as Q Tip. These were just a few standout moments at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony held on October 19. The star-studded event lit up Cleveland, drawing A-listers from across the entertainment world for a night of music, memories, and pure magic.
The awards ceremony capped off a week full of Rock Hall Induction events, including a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Game in partnership with the Cleveland Browns. But the real showstopper was the tribute to the iconic Cher, the ‘Goddess of Pop,’ alongside inductions for legends like Mary J. Blige, Kool & the Gang, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Over five hours, fans were treated to touching tributes, live performances, and unforgettable duets from some of the most legendary voices in music. Black women led the charge, owning the stage and delivering moments we’ll be sure to talk about for a long time.
It’s no surprise that Zendaya had one of the most viral looks of the night as she slayed the red carpet and stepped on stage in honor of Cher. The model-actress turned heads and moved hearts, wearing an all-white number with sultry cutouts and gold details. Her body was bodying!
Her hair and makeup were just as timeless. Zendaya channeled Cher’s long, sleek locks and golden makeup. See details of Zendaya’s look below.
Dionne Warwick once again proved why she’s one of the most timeless voices in music. The legendary singer wowed with a soulful performance, but the highlight was when she brought out Jennifer Hudson for a rendition of “I’ll Never Love This Way Again.“ The crowd was left speechless as the two powerhouses traded riffs and belted out the iconic tune.
Adding to the magic was Teyana, who’s set to play Dionne in an upcoming biopic. Teyana took the stage with all the elegance and energy of Dionne herself, rocking a spot-on beehive updo, glasses, and a stunning green fringe gown.
“It wasn’t until I got the role of a lifetime to play her in the upcoming biopic that I came to understand the depths of her talent,“ Teyana shared while presenting Dionne with her award. In return, Dionne affectionately called Teyana her “alter ego“ for the night.
When it was time to honor A Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifah led an all-star crew of hip-hop royalty. After an introduction from Dave Chappelle, Queen Latifah hit the stage with De La Soul, The Roots, Busta Rhymes, and more to pay homage to the trailblazing rap group.
Latifah embodied hip-hop excellence, rocking a black quilted long coat, matching pants, a beret, and oversized shades. She effortlessly delivered Q-Tip’s verses from “Can I Kick It,“ hyping the crowd and proving, once again, she’s an OG queen of the culture.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, commanded the Cleveland stage and received her long-overdue flowers. Her friends and collaborators, Dr. Dre and Method Man, introduced her with glowing tributes, crediting her for single-handedly creating a new genre of music.
And in true Mary fashion, she showed up ready to slay. Dressed in a dazzling diamond-encrusted bodysuit, thigh-high black boots, and a wide-brimmed black leather hat, Mary oozed over-the-top style. During her acceptance speech, she thanked God, her music colleagues, and her fans, while reminding everyone to “be careful how you treat others.”
Mary then treated the audience to a medley of her songs with Ella Mai, The Roots, and Lucky Daye. She brought down the house with powerful renditions of songs like “My Life,“ leaving the crowd in awe.
Disney+ streamed the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony live. Those who missed it can see it during a ABC special on January 1, 2025.
